About Dr. Karen Hiltz

Dr. Karen Hiltz brings a remarkable depth of expertise to the board. Her multifaceted background spans procurement, education, and authorship. She served with several critical government agencies including the U.S. Customs Service and U.S. Capitol Police. Dr. Hiltz's commitment to public service is exemplified by her tenure in the United States Navy, where she served her country with distinction.
Dr. Hiltz was a professor at Ferrum College in Ferrum, VA, and an adjunct professor at Mary Baldwin University, Staunton, VA. She served as a school board member for the Franklin School Board. She has published several books and numerous articles on education policy.
Dr. Karen Hiltz earned her Ed.D in Leadership Studies from Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, VA, and her MBA in Management from Marymount University, Arlington VA. Her undergraduate work was completed at Chaminade University, Honolulu, HI.
